Will London follow the same pattern ever?

The Norwegian government announced to make the Oslo car-free city by 2019!

The Reuters reported, Oslo will not welcome the cars to the city by 2019, with the announcement Oslo will become the first city to completely ban the entry of cars in the city. The authorities are looking forward to develop huge and efficient public transport network. The planning to build 35 miles bike lanes is also underway. According to the estimation, there could be 350,000 or more cars affected with the decision.

According to The Executive director of Transportation Alternatives (TA), the decision of Oslo’s car ban is the biggest ban of its kind. It is great decision by Oslo and should be appreciated. Oslo can set a great example for the world if they successfully implement the plan. It is to note that TA is well known organisation of the New York City and advocates for car-free cities around the world.

Stop Cars
However the decision will help to eliminate the pollution and make the city safer and cleaner. The higher authorities of the capital argued, the decision to ban cars will help to make the city worth living place, the city will become a great place for visitors, pedestrians and open place for shopping. It will be fun and excitement meanwhile healthy and safe for the inhabitant Although other European cities are looking forward for similar plans for future such as Madrid made an announcement last year,

To ban the capital city for cars from 2020, it is to note that Madrid ban decision will affect larger area than Oslo because the city spreads over 500 acres of the land.Similarly Paris made a decision last month to ban the entry of cars towards city land marks like Notre Dame Cathedral and Eiffel Tower. It is important to note that the Copenhagen was the first city to announce pedestrian zones in 1960 and later the city made car-free zones. But Oslo and Madrid cars ban decisions are far greater than the previous examples.

Oslo city
According the figures, the traffic in London runs slower than the average bicyclists and drivers waste 106 days of their life while moving on London roads. The experts say, the cars are among one of the most dull and inefficient way to move within the cities.

The cars also fade away charm and natural beauty of the cities and also leave serious consequences on human health by polluting the air in the city. The Cars-bans decisions will solves the problems all at once.
